Shadows

I adjusted the lights in the room so that the shadow of the mic stood out. I like the way that the mic has lots of texture and interest and the shadow is kind of flat.

When I came back into the studio on Thursday, one of the jazz combos was practicing. I got Sean to stand beside the wall to cast a shadow with his saxophone. I liked the way the shadow saxophone and the real saxophone are kind of connected and run into each other.

This is the shadow that Ellie was casting on the wall. I like how contemplative it looks, almost like she's studying her subject to get a good shot.

Which photos do you like and why?

  1. I really like these images! My favorite is probably the microphone because I like the pattern and shadow in it. It's a really clear shot! Nice work (:

  2. i love ALL of these! the first two could be in a "collection" because they're so alike, if you took more like that you could make a whole photo book about music! And Ellie almost looks like she's moving, which is so cool! GREAT JOB!
